I think you've done everything you can. If you don't hear anything in a couple weeks I would drop it off at free-ride.

Found: Red Schwinn Frontier
I was walking on Spahr Street in Shadyside this morning and came across a red Schwinn Frontier that was just ditched on the sidewalk. I came back just now (8:00 p.m.) and it was still right there. I locked it to a nearby pole and left my name and number (saying it was in "protective custody").
The bike was fairly beat up, probably a vintage 2002-2005 model, and had a chain and combination lock wrapped around the top tube.
What's the protocol for this? I don't really want to leave it there forever (the lock or the bike). I put up a post on Craigslist. Is there a thread here I missed reporting this stolen? Or should I just leave well enough alone, and leave the bike back loose on the sidewalk.

You might want to conact city and campus cops and see if anyone reported it stolen as well.
