Have an opinion on walking, biking, living or working in Westmoreland County?

Westmoreland County Friends..... Westmoreland County is updating their County Comprehensive Plan. This document sets the vision for the County, from housing and development to business development, transportation and recreation. They are calling the effort "Reimaging Our Westmoreland" "Our" Westmoreland....as in yours and mine (well, not mine...I don't live in Westmoreland County.) They want your ideas. To make it really appealing to many of you, the next opportunity for public input will be held at the Regional Trail Corporation offices in West Newton. Just be alert.... it's an early (5:00 p.m.) start. Comprehensive Plan Public Workshop Thursday, January 19 Time: 5:00 PM Location: Regional Trail Corporation Address: 111 Collinsburg Road West Newton, PA 15089 Link: More information on Reimagining Our Westmoreland website (http://www.hlplanning.com/portals/westmoreland/)The new Comprehensive Plan will be community-driven, and its vision and policy recommendations will be grounded in extensive community outreach. If you haven’t had the opportunity to share your ideas and concerns you now have a few more opportunities to do so. Remember that community input is critical to the planning the process! If you made a promise in recent months to be more engaged in your community (as many of you have) this is a great opportunity to get the New Year off to a great and participatory start.

I can't edit the original post any longer, but note that the date of this meeting has changed.   New date is January 25, 2017.   Meeting time (5:00 p.m.) and location (RTC offices) remain unchanged.

I suppose, as a property owner and one-time resident of New Stanton, with a family member about to move into that house, I should try to get to it. But damn, that's early! Even for in-county residents, that's 20 to 30 minutes by car from my N.S. house in good weather. More like 60 from downtown even if I had a car here, meaning I'd have to tie off work about 3:30 instead of my usual 5:30. I have trouble making a 5 p.m. meeting across the street. Any chance there's a Skype or other video link? Even audio? (I did check the website; nothing obvious.)

@Stu; no virtual link that I am aware of.  But, there is a survey (as well as mapping tools, etc) on the Comp Plan website at http://www.hlplanning.com/portals/westmoreland/ As a property owner in Westmoreland County, you are certainly qualified to take the survey. There might even be links to other input opportunities on that website.  I didn't look all that closely.
