Help clear landslides near Kennywood Wed 6/14

Calling volunteers for Wednesday morning! There were six small landslides on the Steel Valley Trail (GAP trail)  Tuesday 6/13! We need to shovel dirt, rocks, and mud off the trail. Bring gloves. We have some square point shovels, but if you're able to bring your own on your bike, please do. We'll meet at 9am beyond (south of) Kennywood along the trail (lat, lon: 40.38667, -79.85876), but spread out to attack six different problem areas shortly after that. Lower priority is pruning of overhanging tree branches, so pruners and small saws could also come in handy. TIME: Wed 2017/6/14 9am to noon PLACE: on Steel Valley Trail near Kennywood. We'll be hard to miss. FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/1932743933632849/ Here are pictures of two of the landslides: https://flic.kr/p/VHu3a1 https://flic.kr/p/UxuxVt

Yale got this picture of a tree across the trail in Duquesne, also: https://flic.kr/p/VA6HnT The Post-Gazette reports that Munhall got about 1.5 inches of rain Tuesday (while other parts of Pittsburgh got only .5 inch). http://www.post-gazette.com/local/region/2017/06/13/flash-flood-warning-allegheny-county-national-weather-service-pittsburgh-weather/stories/201706130163/ "Vehicles were also caught in water at the intersection of Duquesne Boulevard and Grant Avenue in Duquesne”. Meanwhile, I found a Weather Underground weather station that reports 4 inches of rain in West Mifflin (I don’t know if that’s reliable information): https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KPAWESTM4#history/s20170613/e20170613/mdaily
