Hi all,
I haven't been cycling or on the forums much the the last few years, life and what not. For a while there, I was cycling fairly often and came to some social style events. I've started cycling again this year, and I've hit a bit of an issue with my current setup.
A couple years back, we gave up our way-too-big-for-two-people house in Edgewood and moved to a townhouse with a small patio. [It's awesome so little maintenance!] But, there is insufficient room for our bikes to be kept inside, so I've put up a couple bike hooks and purchased a couple bike covers.
Today when I went to take my wife's bike to the shop, it struck me there must be a better storage mechanism. Perhaps, one that makes it easier to store/remove bikes, more secure and gives us more usable patio room than what we have now. And since part of the problem I was taking her bike to shop for is moisture that has worked it's way under her bike cover, keeping the bikes drier would be super awesome.
Not that things are terrible, but it's just rough enough to give me pause about cycling to the gym in the mornings -- which is meant to be part of my prep for the Hancock Hundred in September.
Here are examples of
putting my wife's bike away @0:20 and
putting my bike away @ 0:23 from our security cam. [Sadly, our camera doesn't have the "auto-slim subject" or "hide bald spot" options turned on. :)
Anyone have any thoughts? We live in a co-op and one of the rules is that anything we do shouldn't be visible from the street.
(And if there's anyone out there does paid consultations or installation on such things, I'm
happy to pay in cash, beer or similar trade for services.)
