Hipster FAIL: gears.
Hipster Fender
I know you all want one.
total fail.
Stealth hipster...the derailler's frozen, so it's really a SS.
Another fail?
Riding around on a recalled Shimano crank.
I've replaced a ton of those. Hundreds. And I still see them all the time.
Strangely enough, I've never seen a broken one, which is why they were recalled.
As of a few years ago, Shimano was still sending out free replacement cranks, at least a decade after the original recall.
I wondered about that crank. The brakes look like the following year. The year before the brakes were under recall as well! (and for good reason) But I too have never seen one of those cranks fail.
I've heard they still do replace them. Free Ride has a lot of mid-90s Shimano cranks but neither I nor anyone else that I know of does anything about that recall. Should that be changed?
Hipsters: Post pics of your cool stuff here, and we'll tell you exactly how they fail!
It's like a public service.
Yes!, particularly if Shimano will send new ons for free.
Some cranks need a new front derailleur and chain too, which in the past, Shimano provided.

That looks less like a hipster fender than it does a DUI biker fender.
