How many commuters did you see?

4/20/16 8H00-8H15 Oakland to Downtown. I counted 13 on the way in. That doesn't include the people pulling rentals at the HealthyRide kiosk on Smithfield.

This morning, around 7:10- 7:15 am, 1 commuter, who got off the O1 bus at Stanwix and then got on the Penn Ave bike lane. Given that the O1 route is a glorified parking lot shuttle (I think it just picks up people at the Ross park and ride and then heads downtown via the HOV lane, with no stops in between), this guy may have driven, bussed and ridden on the way to work. Or he rode his bike to the Park and Ride and got on the bus there. Either way, nice job dude. PS: I generally don't bike to work, I take the bus, so I'll likely won't see as many cyclist commuters as I would if I did. Still, I usually see a couple of folks turning off from Stanwix onto Penn while I'm on my way to my bus stop, plus the aforementioned cyclist coming off one of the O1 buses.

Weirdly, even out here (I'm in Monroeville) I'm starting to see a trickle of commuters. There's one guy I see sometimes on Mosside Boulevard. So far, my count for the year is 11 adult cyclists east of Turtle Creek.

I think it's easier to get a sense in the morning, when it's more likely the recreational riders aren't out yet. That said, seems like the growth of utility/commuters is substantial, even from small anecdotal observations. Is there any recent data that has been released in regards to the cyclist counts that periodically occur?

2 commuters and a roadie. 8:10-8:35 (I did come in via the Strip/Convention Center/North Side trails, so I didn't see the Penn Ave folks)

Crossing the Ft Duquesne Bridge around 5:10 pm, must have been four of us on the bridge, at least, at the same time.

2 this morning, at corner of Penn and Stanwix between 0705 and 0715. Both multimodal, with one coming from the O1 bus and the other one from the Gateway T station. @mmfs, this reminds me of when I went to San Francisco last year. Taken at Market St around 8 am on a Monday, a constant stream of cyclists: https://www.flickr.com/gp/68912815@N04/0U0w31

@Jonawebb; I saw two adult cyclists (not together) on Mosside and Haymaker Roads in Monroeville last evening. One was a young woman heading north on Mosside near Forbes Hospital. The other was a man heading south on Haymaker, about a half a mile south of the hospital.

4/21/16 Saw a bunch going through the East End, Point Breeze, Squill area around 8AM while I was driving. A few riders who looked like they were rec riders on EFT/Jail Trail at around 10AM. Lots moving around downtown, though, including PAT bus w/ one mounted on the rack in front.
