awesome! welcome aboard!
I'm new, so Hi!
Hello all. I'm 31 and just bought a used bike to ride for errands and fun. I hope to commute at some point, but live in Dormont and work in town, so dealing with the mountain will be tough. I haven't ridden much since I was a kid, as I was as much as 100 lbs overweight until last year. I'm down 75 since then and feel great and am ready to get on a bike again.
Welcome, and congratulations on the health enhancements.
If you want to think about riding to work, consider a Car Free Friday event.
Bill leads a group (or is available to lead a group) from the Mt. Lebanon/Dormont area.
His info can be found in the Car Free Friday posting, under the events tab on the BP website.
Basic details are:
Southminster Church/Mt. Lebanon Library Parking Lot
Departure Time: 7:30 a.m.
Destination: Downtown
Contact: Bill (email available on Car Free Fridays map/page)
Thanks Sara! The Bike Pools are a great resource. Contact Bill first so he knows to expect you.
Welcome to the world of cycling. It's great that you're giving it a go. Feel free to post any questions to these forums. You'll find lots of friendly people willing to help you out.
I see you made it over here (i gave a link on another site).
Thanks everybody. Yep, I made it over. I will get in a little better riding shape and definately look into the Bill's group. Thanks again!
