Well Hello...It's been a while now hasn't it? We'd said we'd get back to our usual monthly ride. And we are. Finally getting back to our monthly rides!
Join us Friday, April 17 for a nice, no drop ride. We'll meet at Dippy at 6 and leave from there for a slow, safe and (most likely) silly ride. Route to be posted soon.
Flock tunes, new & old friends, nice weather, and an overall nice time!!
Hope to see you there!

I'm not too familiar with the Oakland area. Where would be a good place to park near the starting point? Is there a lot available, or should I be looking to park along the road somewhere in Schenley? I'll probably be pushing too close on time to consider riding in the whole way.

"or should I be looking to park along the road somewhere in Schenley?"
That would be my vote. Schenley or maybe at the bottom of Joncaire. Sometimes I just park in one of the garages on the South Side and ride up from there. Sometimes I park on a residential street in Squirrel Hill and just ride down from there. I guess it depends on my mood and the final destination.

There is street parking along Schenley right beside the Library, or along Bigelow Blvd next to the Cathedral of Lernin, but, on a Friday afternoon, I have found that the easiest parking is on S. Dithridge in front of St. Nicholas Greek Church, almost always something available.

I considered parking by the soccer field in Panther Hollow but the thought of starting off the evening tackling either Joncaire or Neville up to Forbes didn't strike my wife or me as the most appealing option, especially this early in the season.
I hadn't considered anything in the neighborhood, such as Dithridge. Is that metered parking? Barring that, the spaces in front of Phipps seemed like a good alternative. Yea/Nay?

Regrettably, I can't make it, but if I were starting from substantially further away, I'd think of Anderson playground. Not ~right~ there by any means, but an additional 3 minutes +/- of flat, zero stress riding in the cycletrack on either end seems like a nice way to not to worry about parking.

I rode past the library earlier today and checked out one of the parking vending machines: Paid parking is between 8am and 6pm.
Sounds like you should be able to park right there for free (well, you'd still need an open spot).
