Sounds like someone at Petraglia Auto Service hates their life.
Jagoff at Petraglia Auto Service, 38th & Liberty
Don't be surprised if one of the workers at Petraglia Auto Service starts mouthing off if you're in the bike lane and need to yell at someone pulling a vehicle into the bike lane so you don't get hit. There may be a short mid 30's chubby white guy yelling "shutup you retard" for looking out for your personal safety. If you try to rationalize with him, he may continue yelling nonsense as he walks away and gestures for you to come start a fight. Since many ride past there on a daily basis, just a heads up.
ugh. I live right next to them. tried to tell them that their sidewalk was covered in a sheet of ice this past winter, and they had a "not-my-problem" kind of attitude
c'mon, Petraglia Auto Service, that's clearly not a nice way to treat your neighbors
Sounds like it's helmet cam time.
RF - 311 them for it. That's a ticket-able offence, and the city will cite them for it. It's also bad for their insurance - if a passerby slips and falls, all medical care and damages are on them. It's just stupid for a business to allow their sidewalk to be anything other than passable and welcoming.
Really sounds like Petraglia Auto Service has some great opportunities for improving their community and public relations.
pretty sure this jag buzzed me this morning on negley on his way in to work. I tried to talk to him as he rolled down his window at the stop light and all I got was "You wanna fight? Cuz I'll stop the car so we can fight."
Wow, it is unfortunate that so many here have been bothered by Petraglia Auto Service. I hope the guy is able to adjust his perspective. A lot of cyclists are car owners, too. He could be picking up some new business due to the convenient location. Maybe he'll have a change of heart by keeping the sidewalk free of ice and let cyclists use his air pump on occasion. Life is easier when you have a lot of friendly faces streaming by your business.
Wow, maybe if the owner of Petraglia Auto Service at 3800 Liberty Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15201 knew that one of their employees is being a jagoff you wouldn’t have to call them at (412) 682-5430 to complain every time.
(note) I have no reason to believe the driver in my happenings this morning is an employee at Petraglia Auto Service.
So much juice in this thread. #9.
a.k.a. Pickle Auto Service or Petraglia Pickle Auto Body. The company's line of business includes Auto Body Repair/Painting and General Auto Repair.
There is, of course, the opportunity to contribute an online review.
I hope that nobody posts an derogatory image on the web with a filename like "petraglia-auto-service-pittsburgh.jpg" with ALT-text and TITLE-text that cast aspersions. Cause that would really effect Google results.
Good job Vannevar! Love your tactics.
@vannevar:
Ha!
I fear that the portrayal of "hicks" as Petraglia Auto Service may be insulting to the hicks. They just seem like two life partners trying to get by in Rural America.
I think that's a llama in the background, which is awesome.
+1 Edmunds
Hicks get a bad rap.
We know that the folks at Petraglia Auto Service are jerks and kinda st00pid.
We don't know if they are ugly or not. We know they aren't rural.
they are probably ugly. pittsburgh is so full of ugly people. I was shocked when I moved here. Anyway I like it. I fit right in.
@ Tabby WHAT!!!!! I'm ugly!???!!!!! Nooooo!!!!!! I always liked to be believed I was the combination of Brad Pitt and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
dude, The Rock is hilarious but far from attractive. He always looks photoshopped, though it may just be my reaction to pancake makeup, which nobody. ever. needs.
I'm not the biggest fan of insulting Petraglia Auto Service... I really do think that businessmen who care about their business will do what they can to avoid alienating future and potential customers, from maintaining an approachable and passable storefront to regulating employee (including owner) behavior in public. But personal attacks make it hard for people to learn any lesson.
I guess if attempts to educate fail, and attempts to legally regulate fail, then only shaming is left as a last resort. But I kind of thought we were more constructive and creative than that.
Wait, are we talking about this Petraglia Auto Service? I think their address is:
3800 Liberty Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15201-1217. and you can call them at :(412) 682-5430
I am all about being nice to people, but when they act like douches, they deserve ridicule.

We are all writers here.

In mid-June I was riding my bike up Liberty Avenue out of the strip when a car reversed out of the garage at Petraglia Auto Service at a pretty good clip (20mph) and nearly hit me.
I called 311 to complain then.
Just be on the look out.
Just a follow-up activity.
You might do a Google search on "petraglia auto service pittsburgh". Then you might click on the "images" button. Then again, you might not.
HA!
scroll down just a bit on the web results, too.
The images just kept getting more bizarre as you scrolled down....
yinz are all being, like, unrightful to rednecks.
And this thread is already #2 on the search results without going to images, too.
Huh. A friend's car's inspection is due next month. I might've suggested at least looking into Petraglia Auto Service since it's about half a mile from her house (and closer from mine), but now I won't bother.
If only that guy had serviced his attitude...
Heh, heh
that's great, buffalo buffalo, but i wonder if you buffalo buffalo buffalo. or maybe even you buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo. i remember i once heard that buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo.

The possibilities are, it is claimed, infinite.
There really is a Wikipedia page about it.

You can listen to that entry. It's really weird to hear someone say that sentence so many times
