So.
You're claiming there is a famous Hollywood actor that is a poseur?
i'm shocked
so a while back i started a thread about freewheeled bikes with only a front brake. From what I could extrapolate from everyones opinions was that it is an unsafe, and poseur thing to do. Today i came across this video on urbanvelo's website.
While I think the video is pretty cool, to say nothing of the song or the fact that Jared Leto is now making music, it irked me to see him cruise around on a track bike sporting an aerospoke with just a freewheel and front brake. cmon jared, you just lost your street cred.

haha, i didn't know who he was until the bike riding music video thing
but, dave, can you lose street cred that you may have never had?
YESSS! if only we had this footage for the "my so-called bike party" video montage. it's finally come full-circle. jordan catalano high-school dreamboat on white aerospokes. FINALLY.
(erok: jared leto, the singer in this crappy band, played jordan catalano on "my so-called life." fossil free dave impersonated him at the party)
sidenote: i can't believe this band has been around since 1998.
tall bike with head dress is waaaay cooler
agreed.
jared leto was pretty real in requiem for a dream, maybe too real.
but you know who has street cred? Big Pete:
i love this nada surf video
that was a decent video. it was weird seeing the williamsburg bridge so empty of cyclists
they might have shut it down to film Beefy Boy riding across it.
I've heard this guy's name before, and it has struck me as odd, but then I realized I was confusing him with a character from the "Dune" trilogy. But that's just me.
a character from the "Dune" trilogy.
Duke Leto Atreides, cruisin' the sands of Arrakis on a Pugsley. That image will be stuck in my head for a while...thanks.
ok so this is like beating a dead horse, but bike snob nyc commented on this and it went so well with this thread:
Jared leto locking just his front wheel to a post
and dont get me wrong, i really did a lot of his work...
haha
