twice a day since Fri. It is barely passable by foot and completely un-ridable even by my winterized mtb. I was actually thinking of trying to pay somebody in the run to plow it with their tractor.
Junction Hollow?
Has anyone ventured down there?
I would seriously kick in some cash if you find someone willing to plow it. I honestly can't imagine going to work without being able to go that way, and the hike-a-bike just doesn't sound like fun.
I'll kick in a buck or two, if this happens.
I just approached from the Oakland side and the snow was piled high. About 100 yards before the yellow gate, they stopped all plowing, and in fact there was a Jersey barrier-esque wall of snow where the plowed area ended. Some people had hopped over and walked but it looked like dragging a bike behind you would have been a real pain. You need some snowshoes or skis to get through down there, ideally.
So the question is: if you needed to get from the South Side to the east end of town (Morningside), what is the route of least resistance? I suspect the sidewalk along Fifth Avenue is mostly snow-covered, and I really don't want to try Forbes Avenue from the Birmingham Bridge.
