You could try taking a MTB cable and filing it into a square. Just be careful not to go so deep on any one 'side' so as to nic the cable. Maybe try it on a freeride cable first.
Looking for wierd square-tapered brake ferrules
Kraynick's doesn't have any; I looked
Neither does FreeRide
Sorry it is horrifically out of focus, especially where it's actually needed (I really need to relearn how to spot focus)
So, does anybody have any of these? I found some mismatched circular ones that fit in the square, but I'd really like the actual ones that were made to fit in that weird shape
The cable and cable ferrule are okay
It's the ferrule that goes into the lever that I'm looking for
It kind of sits between the lever and the cable ferrule
So, you need square-profile ferrules designed to slip onto the end of round cable housing?
Will check at home. I have a pair that came off an old bike.
@Reddan
No, no, no It's designed to sit in the brake lever. The top I'm assuming is round. Then there is like a little disc in the middle, with a hole for the cable to pass through. On the bottom is the square-ish shape
have you considered replacing the levers?
I purposefully sought out these levers, or to be more precise, I came across them digging around in FreeRide
They look, kind of terminator like, so I want to use them
I already have ferrules that will work, but having the actual ferrules they were designed for would be even better
How about drilling out the levers so a round one fits?
The more you describe them, the more they sound like what I have a pair of at home. I'll take a pic tonight and PM you. If they're a fit, I'll bring them with me tomorrow.
No, sorry, they don't match.
