Where does one go to buy a decent entry-level bike for a teenager? Would prefer to avoid Walmart but at the same time would like to have it soon (this weekend would be ideal).
Looking for a 51 cm frame and preferably quick release wheels for easy transportation. Open to buying used if anyone is trying to get rid of one. Would like to keep it under $500 but this is negotiable.
I checked REI but their bikes in my price range don't have quick release wheels. Would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Inquire at bike shops. They often get trade-ins. I know Thick has a whole roomful of decent used bikes which would be great for a beginner. I was talking bike purchases at Scholl's in West View one day when someone walked in with a trade-in. Dave was ready to sell it to me for $50 on the spot.

Thanks Stu. Got one from The Tandem Connection, son loves it.
