I know when I commit early my plans change five times, but I'll take a chance. As of now, I'm in.
March Flock All Night this Friday!
For those of you not on Facebook:
Meet at Dippy the Dino @ 10:00 pm
(4100 Forbes Avenue, in front of Carnegie Library in Oakland)
Flock All Night is Flock of Cycles party-style social ride that meets on the second Friday of each month.
The style of the ride is slow-paced and courteous: stop at traffic lights, yield to pedestrians, stay in a single lane, and allow cars to pass (when they can do so safely). This ride is perfect for pulling that weird bike out of the house–uni’s ‘bents, tall bikes, choppers, and any other weird looking contraption will be at home on this ride.
It’s about being responsible, courteous road users, not racing around the city and keeping it fun!
Helmets and lights are REQUIRED.
Hope to see everyone there!
Is this still happening with the snow???
@Shawn: keep an eye on the facebook page (link above). You should be able to see an update even if you are not logged into facebook.
BTW, if you cancel the FB event, can you post something on the wall for FOC (not the event!) saying it's cancelled?
The problem is that FB just completely obliterates cancelled events - you're not able to go to the page and see that it's cancelled or whatever comments people left there. That happened to me last time, I had a bunch of "XXX posted on the Wall for
So it is cancelled?
I'm going to update the Facebook page as well as here. We decided it would be best to cancel. The roads are messy, it's cold, and it's supposed to start snowing again after the start of the ride. Sorry to cancel again, but hopefully
next Friday's weather will be more conducive to having the party ride.
*whew*
I didn't want to entirely wimp out, but I really am trying to finish taxes.
It stopped raining and the roads are fine where i am. Bummer. I guess i do need to catch up on sleep, so I'll take it.
Thanks for the update, too bad it's cancelled. I really need to start riding more, tried to tackle Negley tonight and gave up about halfway up... ugh.
I got a new bike that i haven't gotten a chance to ride yet. Kinda leary about riding on the day of st party's day parade/celebration
