You are correct, sir! 21 Marchat 18:00 We're meeting at Dippy at 6pm and departing at 6:30! PLEASE INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! More details below... --What is a Bike Party?-- A Bike Party is a welcoming, family-friendly, all-inclusive, FREE event consisting of a leisurely-paced bicycle ride (complete with music and mechanical support) and ending with a post-ride party. The group pedals through the city at a slow, welcoming pace appropriate for riders of all ages and capabilities. You get a chance to make new friends, learn new routes, and have fun on your bike! --Where?-- We'll meet at Dippy the Dino (on Forbes Ave in Oakland, in front of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, across from the Cathedral of Learning). --When?-- We'll meet at 6pm and leave at 6:30pm. --How long is the ride?-- Around 8-10 miles. --What's the route?-- http://www.endomondo.com/routes/307300967 --Where does the ride end?-- This month we'll end in Market Square for downtown adventures! --What should I bring?-- Helmets. Lights. A bike to put those lights on. And all your friends! --What happens in the case of rain/snow/zombie apocalypse?-- On the afternoon of the ride, we'll decide whether conditions are safe enough to ride. Look for updates here, on Twitter, and on our website a couple of hours before the start of the ride if things are looking sketchy.

The weather looks to be cooperative. Hell, it's gonna be absolutely beautiful. 55 and sunny!

Wear your sunscreen! Drink plenty of fluids. Overheating is serious business!

That was the official forecast when I posted that. The snow we had earlier has already quit, they're predicting almost zero precip by late afternoon, and a temp of about 47 at ride time with very little wind.

Yay, the weather held. It was beautiful! Entirely dry, in the low-to-mid-40s. I counted noses a couple of times, and got 40 maybe 41 riders; 28 men, 13 women. We crossed the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers twice each, and tried out the new bikes-only Pocusset St. Favorite scene: At the bottom of Philips St in Squirrel Hill, where it turns into Pocusset, two very small boys on strider bikes chased along the sidewalk alongside us. Clearly future Flockers! Great ride, everyone. Let's do it again next month!

There are few things more relaxing on a pleasant Friday evening than taking a gentle ride with 40 "Type B" riders through our City. What a great ride. Thanks for organizing this! The music was awesome, too!

Any word on the young lady who wiped out on Pocusset?

Yes, looking forward to an update and hoping all is well. It was so lovely to celebrate the coming of a bikey spring with friends old and new. Thank you so much, Flock and Flockers!
