haha - i guess you didn't have enough slavish adherence to the idea of polarity
My rear blinky has been resurrected!
This is actually a pretty embarrassing story, but I feel that you guys won't judge me too much.
Over the summer I bought a Planet Bike Superflash at Iron City. The thing is awesome, and made me feel really comfortable riding at night. On a Flock ride, we met up with Bumper Bike and took Panther Hollow to the South Side. He was lagging behind and didn't have any lights, and dressed in all black, so I lent him the superflash.
He clipped it to the bumper and within 20 feet it was in pieces on the pavement. He was determined to find the missing backside clip. We searched for a good 10 minutes while the others waited at the bottom. And of course, we found it still attached to his bumper. D'oh!
He handed it back to me and it wouldn't turn on. I checked the batteries, yup, still in there. Wouldn't turn on. Oh well. I had a backup and used that for several months.
Today I finally remembered to actually go to Iron City after class and try to find a replacement. Bob took a look at it, cracked it open, and said "both of these batteries are in backwards." Um, embarrassing. I didn't have it in me to explain myself, I feel it best not to. So now Bob thinks I'm an idiot. Oh well, at least I have a working light again.
I bought a light once, and though it was broken, because I tried the batteries every which way I could think of. I then tried other batteries and it worked, so I thought, "that's weird, the batteries it came with are dead."
I later found out that there was a bit of (something, can't quite remember what) stuck to one of the batteries that interrupted the flow of electricity. Oops.
Oh, batteries.
Planet Bike also will immediately send out a replacement for any broken light of theirs.
good thing, 'cause those break often if online reviews are any indicator. sounds like it's mostly due to user error though (seriously, it's not hard to make sure it 'clicks' when putting it in the mount... otherwise it will fall out, duh)
oh Joe... hahaha
I love Planet Bike lights.
