this will make the pavement nicer, but the traffic there will still be stupid
N. Negley to be milled and paved
Between Stanton and ELB sometime between 4/16 and 5/4. I only wish it went all the way to Baum, but it is a start.
I find it hard to believe that I can watch
a bike race live on my computer half way
around the world but it takes 2 weeks to pave
1/4 mile of a road?!?!
I think that they mean that it could happen in that time period, probably depending upon weather. But I wouldn't be surprised if it took 2 whole weeks.
I think I saw paint for some utility work at Stanton & Negley... hopefully that gets taken care of first.
They had construction between Baum and Penn on Negley, hopefully they'll repave that block too?
I am on that stretch of road a couple times a week and it just drives me crazy every time. Obviously the terrible road conditions is part of it, but there is also the element of the number of lanes--it goes back and forth from one to two lanes like seven times in a mile. Would making it one-lane the whole distance make a difference? I feel this would be a good time to make that change, while the street is all torn up and stuff. I guess the worst problem area is south of East Liberty Boulevard, like between Penn Avenue and Friendship Avenue, where there seem to be lanes that just appear and disappear every half-block.
Yes! At Penn, the right hand lane heading south should be right turn only. There's no indication that the lane is ending, and it causes all sorts of problems.
