The Montour Trail Council cordially invites you to the Opening Ceremony of the Georgetown and Morganza Bridges

Please join us to celebrate the completion of these two bridges, which now carry the Montour Trail safely over busy area roads. Lunch will be served.
These are the 3rd and 4th new Montour Trail bridges to open this year, but the earlier two replaced existing bridges. These new ones close gaps in the trail.
They're located just east of where the trail crosses I-79, and a few miles west of where it crosses Route 19/Washington Road.
Once these open, the trail will have only two small breaks for the 36 mile stretch from its start outside Coraopolis down to Library.
The new bridges might look something like this:
It's going to be a fantastic next-step for the Montour Trail, and much safer.
If you're not from those parts and end up out near there, just uptrail at MP25 is the National Tunnel, and downtrail at MP32 is Farmhouse Coffee and MyBigFatGreekGyro.
Today the same bridge (Georgetown Road) looked a lot like this:
Cool. Glad to see it. Will there still be trail access from the road?
Yeahbut. it appears so, but the new/real trail access will be 800' northwest at the new/improved trailhead, by the building that's across the street from the junkyard.
They're cutting it close, if they still look like that, 10 days before the opening ceremony. Can't wait until they finish them!
