It's happened to me at least once. There is definitely one time I remember about 6 years ago. A guy in a giant SUV swerved towards me on the Bloomfield Bridge and threw a possibly empty plastic water bottle at me. It didn't hit me but it was really scary. There's no where to go on the Bloomfield Bridge if someone charges at you like that.

Last year I had a car full of teenagers throw firecrackers at me as I was making the turn onto the Glenwood Bridge ramp to Homestead. I've also had change and trash thrown at me in that area. I know pierce uses this corridor often, I wonder if he sees the same behavior.

On Ellsworth on a decaf ride, some bros threw location or something out of the window at us last year. I had kids on ELB approaching Negley throw rocks at my face nearly hitting me in my eye (the rare occasion I forgot my glasses)

Bunch of middle school kids in a school bus threw some trash at me one day a couple of years back. It doesn't happen very often, probably as often as I am a pedestrian. Rocks and explosives, that's something else. I would definitely inform the authorities at least that it happened, so they can track the data.

Hey Marko, I was just thinking the same thing, but have luckily only been thrown the finger a couple of times in that particular area, which I've been taking daily for about five years now Some kids did throw a bottle at me once on Second Ave by the gas station in Hazlewood and on Black Street in Morningside Kids also threw rocks at us on an early Flock ride next to the Obama School (when it was shuttered and post-Peabody?) once, a passenger flicked a cigarette at me after I called out "4 feet" after they passed too close (almost hit my hand as I was waving them by)

Thankfully no, but I had a passenger hold a plastic Mountain Dew bottle out the window at me as the driver swerved toward me. I think they were hoping to smack me with the bottle? Either way, they missed. Either way, I got the car on camera and recorded the plate in case of a repeat.

@pinky, we had a car do something similar on a group ride a few years ago, but when we caught up to them at the next light they were nice guys just pretending to hand us a drink a la TDF. Dangerous & dumb -yes! Malicious -no.

Ha dumbasses. Yeah, I wasn't entirely sure of the intent, which is why I saved the footage and plate and didn't call them in. I haven't seen them since, so hopefully it was a one-time thing.

Some kids threw some busted up cell phone parts from their short bus on ELB.

In 2007 or 2008, I was hit by a fountain drink at Forbes and Dallas one hot summer evening. After that I was about a second from being able to smash the back window of the car with my U lock, Which would have been dangerous and inappropriate. It is not something I would do after consideration and could not recommend. Heat of the moment. BUT I'm guessing it made the driver have a talk with the passenger who threw it. It was a disgusting, sticky ride home. In 2009, a tin can that evidently had been used as chewing tobacco spitton hit pole next to me. It was a few seconds before I realized it was thrown in my general direction. Had it hit, it would likely have injured me - as well as been the grossest thing ever. Probably a good thing I dont' carry a gun.

Had a beer can chucked at me in columbus, OH. On the southside trail, had a teenager try to fake me out like he was going to throw his backpack at me. I didn't react in the slightest and just stared at him. He looked dissapointed. Had this actually impacted me, I probably would have just veered right in to the stupid little punk.

Love and support. People pass me in their car, and every now and then the driver will gesture and appear to say something my way, but I can never hear what it is they're saying. I assume it's words of love and support.

... YOU! GET ... THE ROAD! Sounds encouraging to me. ... DON'T ... DRIVE A CAR! Supporting! GET ... .. THE WAY! Good!

Just a few weeks ago, I'm sailing down Liberty by 7th Street, hoping I haven't missed the 12 McKnight bus. Two people at the stop at 7th, one a young woman, the other I will charitably describe as "from the 'hood". Hood guy makes a lunge at me, as if to cause me some damage, unaware that I am already braking quickly. I come to a dead stop in front of him and ask him if the 12 had gone past yet. He was rather taken aback that I asked him a civil question in a civil tongue, and simply took a step back. The young woman simply answered yes, it had, so I went on my way. It's always fun to catch people entirely off guard.

Happened once. I'm merging over from right lane to left in prep for left turn with plenty of space behind, slowing the peddling, but probably still going 13mph or so toward a red 100 yards or so ahead. Maybe 3 or 4 seconds later, swift approaching driver hits brakes close behind, then after the braking lays on the horn and creeps up IMMEDIATELY behind me as well roll the final few seconds toward the light. I look back. "You made me spill my drink!" "You've got a cupholder!" "You're in the way!" "It's a red light! I'm in the way of a RED light!?" "What the are you doing in the left lane!?" "Turning left, how you about about you" "Get the off the road!!" I ignore him. More horn. I shake my head at the driver in the right lane who gives a sympathetic look. He throws remainder of drink, poorly, missing me by a mile. "You spilled the rest of your drink!" At this point the driver in car in the right lane is laughing pretty hard. This is about the cheekiest I would ever dare... would never have done it without more drivers around to prevent the guy from just ramming me and driving off. But boy was it cathartic.
