on riding, fully costumed, to an arena pop concert
I rode to the Katy Perry concert in full sequin-and-hot-pants regalia last night, feeling ever so slightly ridiculous as I am in my mid-30s.
At a red light, I hear another bike roll up behind me, so I turn around and say hello.... and it's a woman about my age wearing a leotard and tights, on her way to an adult ballet class.
Two lessons learned from this event:
a) Age ain't nothin' but a number.
b) A gold sequined shirt is possibly the most high-vis garment in existence, in case anybody wants to go that route for safety.

A very different visual, but the same (delightfully immature, highly conspicuous and high-vis) feeling in it's own way:
Wearing a menorah atop my helmet just before and during the days of Hanukkah. Was awesome, can't wait to do again.

i can confirm that i saw emma out the front door in this costume.
