From their Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety page.

not bad. i like the windshield point of view shots
i like this:
Wonder why they felt the need to put "other people" in quotes?
The video is pretty good actually.
Wonder why they felt the need to put "other people" in quotes?
Because "cyclists" are infallible, two wheeled, road pounding machines of pure awesome?
@ Headloss, I told PennDot they could use my name, guess they did it to protect my identity.
Are quotes being used to emphasize something? I hate that!!!!
Go PennDot!
that was wonderful. There are like 20 great PSAs in there that should be put on every TV station.
Yeah. That's the sad thing. I doubt anyone is going to PennDOT's web page for safety tips.
that's always the conundrum with motorist education. the motorists that are hanging out on penndot's website watching safety videos are not the ones who need to watch the videos. don't get me wrong, i'm glad they're watching it and leading by example, but how do you reach the rest of the driving public who is not so receptive
get them into those insurance education sessions and driver ed classes? the ones i've attended have had all manner inane psa type videos, many of which with worse production value than this one. presumably after watching the video, there would be discussion about it, and that would lead to people at least thinking about the message.
still, pretty solid stuff. i am impressed, penn dot.
I just renewed my license online. ONLINE! No eye test, no written test, nothing.
At the very least they should have made me watch a video or something...
Although, to really get people to pay attention there would have to be some kind of Clockwork Orange contraption...
That's just ridiculous right there. The only way that it says on my license that I require eye correction is because a teller noticed me wearing glasses and made me take the eye test again.
they could at least have a checkbox like: "I am aware of the new law that says I can't text while driving" or "I am aware of the new law that says I need to give pedalcyclists four feet"
I passed the eye test for my 1980 renewal, when I knew I needed glasses but my original 1976 license didn't require, simply by memorizing what the man in front of me in line said about the last two lines on the "E" chart.
