Thanks for posting that.
PG: 9/20/12...bikes...twice...
I got to work early today and had time to read the paper. The actual paper kind.
Random acts of kindness (or random acts of what you should do when someone is hurt)
Letter to the editor

...at least she is politely seeking more clarification and not running people over.
Wow, sorry to hear of Jennifer's accident. I rememeber taking her for a spin on the local trails a long long time ago, as part of a radio program she was doing. It was weird. She had this big old microphone taped to her handlebars. This was on the Chateau Trail, long before the casino went in. Great memory. Glad to know she's ok, and was treated well following her accident.
The comments are off to a good start. No really...
i tried to inject some useful info before the trolls showed up.
Kind of a shame the one commenter on the bridge thing (not CB) got all snarky on it right off the bat. That doesn't present well. It seemed like a dumb but sincere enough question.
Colin, thaanks for doing a great comment!
The first comment on the bridge letter has a point. What did she mean when she said there might have been an accident if she couldn't pass other than she might have hit him?
Totally guilty of being super snarky.
I think now that my son wants to ride solo in the city more often I am a lot more uppity about driver stupidity than I used to be.
The "Random act of kindness" letter was awesome.
Re: Bikes and bridges
I'm really glad that Henry Peter Gribbin (also of Squirrel Hill) wasn't in the car with Sylvia. The body count would have almost certainly increased.
I was the first to write comment on the PG letter. Just removed it actually. In retrospect I was elevated in snark after reading the earlier "pay to ride on the road" PG letter. While the tone of the letter indicates that the cyclist wasn't "going fast enough so they could have been hurt", I agree that we need to be productive and not just more of the noise.
Good job man. We all need to grow, me incl.
