Pittsburgh Erie Round Trip

Hi! My wife and I are planning to bike round trip to Erie over 4 days and are curious to know what routes have yinz taken. We are planning on following the adventure cycling UGRR Pittsburgh Spur on the way up. We are looking for recommendations on routes to take on the way back that would allow us to spend the night in a different town. I’d also appreciate any tips for this trip (attractions, restaurants, etc). Thanks!

Pittsburgh Randonneurs have a Pit-Erie-Pit route, I think it's a 300 or maybe 400k. You might find it on their site or ask on their F*c*book. The Escape to the Lake route goes from Moraine SP to Erie, tho not necessarily the most direct.

It might be worth a shot to work your way to Titusville. You could grab a rail trail there to Franklin then Emlenton. From there you could work your way to Butler and grab the Butler-Freeport Trail, then work your way back to Pittsburgh. It's about 190 miles from Presque Isle to Point State Park. I've ridden much of these routes, just never as one trip.

does any organization keep a comprehensive website/map of all the trails in the area? That would be neat to have if someone already does it. If not, I don't have the time nor expertise to do it but maybe someone else does...
