160lbs + rider with only a coaster brake?
To me, that sounds like a plan for disaster. What if the chain slips off or the coaster brake fails catastrophically like they are known to do?
Designed and built in Pittsburgh, 80%+ recycled, can carry 160+ pounds. We are working on a full geared version (this one's a coaster brake), this is a full on cargo bike.
We have a shop at 5008 Gem Way
(behind Kranics). We have more as we are starting small production runs. 412-441-4720

Yeah, I have found that out in prototyping and testing. I haven't had a problem with it, but the new ones are all getting front and back caliper brakes.
I will get some pictures of my dog on the back. Tomatoe loves to ride. She stands on the platform.
I thought about renting them by the hour or week.
I have had some comments about the cargo bikes we have built.
These are proto-type bikes. The welds are not the prettiest. Structurally they are sound. You are going to get a 150- proto-type, if you want an immaculate bike that looks like it was made by a multi million dollar international corporation this is not for you. If you want a bike that you can show off to your friends and tell them how you financed your house to get it then ok, I can refer you to some of those companies. You will spend 2300$ on a pretty cargo bike that will do the same job as this one. We are not a big company, and are working our butts off to build these bikes in Pittsburgh. If you want to support a local company, that isn't super funded then great, get one.
