Oh, I thought you mean the app crashing. Happens all the time. But nobody is hurt. You don't even lose any Pokemon, if you wait until after the spinning ball in the top right finishes updating.
An amazing game and remarkable social transformation. People talk about how hard it is to change what people do. Pffft.

I expect to see more people zombified, walking off of cliffs, into traffic, tresspassing on peoples property and getting shot, etc., etc.
It is bad enough that they are too busy to look away from their devices, and now they have a game that actually is the WORST thing for the human mind.

Ha, the way I see it, people getting outside, getting exercise, actually TALKING TO OTHER HUMANS FACE TO FACE is a pretty good thing. Who knows, maybe they'll make friends, get to know their neighborhood, make improvements. Anything can happen.

I've been told off by my own daughter that I'm too brash for suggesting that, when people get outside playing the game, that they learn to look for actual real things in the world and learn what they are.

I'm ambivalent as regards the game itself. Play, don't play...so long as you're not adding more danger to the world, it's all good.
I do find the concept that this is some form of sweeping change to be a bit odd...when you get down to it, it's a new reason for people to do what they already want to do, i.e. spend more time on their phone. I shan't deny that there are potential real-world benefits, but really, it's not hard to get people to stare at a screen.
Sort of like eating pie for charity...good to raise money for a cause, raise awareness, or whatever, but, at the end of the day, the pie's the thing...

Getting people to walk around outdoors and get more exercise is a big deal. The government's been trying to make that happen basically forever. And now it's happening.
