They're supposed to do Negley from Baum to Fifth this week too, according to their road work page.
PSA: Smallman is milled
I know it had been mentioned when people looked at the milling/paving list, but thought I would make a mention now that it's happened…
Doing the railroad street/spruce way wiggle back to l'ville, came out onto smallman at 32nd, and no pavement! Milled all away! It's pretty clean, but super rough, and utilities are all really sharp. Also, the bump at the end is super sharp, at least 1.5"-2"
It's from 33rd through mid 20's (forget the block exactly). Be Careful!
As of this morning, Negley has been milled between Ellsworth and Fifth. If you typically turn right on Ellsworth from Negley (as I do), take it easy--the apex of that corner is a rutted mess.
Yeah if you take Ellsworth across negley toward the little shops and restaurants, there is quite a lip to hop up onto
yeah that was a nasty surprise when i turned onto smallman a few days ago. cant wait till that becomes smooth pavement.
South Negley from ELB to Stanton repaving is running 2 months late. Hopefully soon. Same for some some new paint / sharrows on Liberty in Bloomfield. Penn Ave sharrows are also pretty beat.
careful on negley. a friend cracked an oil pan driving through earlier today.
Took on Smallman Roubaix style this afternoon... BANG.... ssssssssssssss.
Your tire or your knee?
Rear tube. Knee is already shot, but trying to get the most that I can out of it over the next few weeks before surgery. Floor pump at the office came in handy... my mini pump is absolutely worthless. Moving to co2 for the saddle bag.
A combo of both works best. Pump up until you can't pump any more air in, then top off with Co2.
Smallman work is complete. Nice and smooth with the same impatient try to drive to fast drivers.
