Put a stop to topics, having nothing to do with cycling!!!!

Is there any way Bike Pittsburgh can screen and put a stop to subjects, not related to cycling and bike trails.Lately, a number of juvenile sexual topics have been advertised and written for this website.Does anybody screen the topics??? Can you please ban any topics, not related to cycling, from going on this website

Yes, there have been 2-4 pieces of new spam per day lately. There are people, me among them, that try to manually mark garbage posts as "spam" every day, but it's a tedious process. I don't know what options the Wordpress system gives to BikePgh for automatically preventing spam. Ask @erok?

Sorry about this issue, everyone. I'm on staff and I'm also among the folks that mark these posts for spam throughout the week.  I'm going to send a note to the folks that update our website and see if there are any additional screening tools we can use, but thank you Paul for being active and marking these topics as spam.   warm regards, -marc

I am ok with people intentionally writing about subjects other than cycling and bike trails as long as they are intentional and of  human origin.  An example might be cars hitting buildings.  The spam is a minor irritant, but easy enough to recognize and ignore until it gets removed. thanks to whoever does that.

Lately, I've had to log in every time I come here, and the login process checks to make sure I'm not a robot - sometimes it checks twice. Spam still happens.   I don't find it overwhelming.

Well, you (might) need a human to get past the capcha, but check the 'remember' box and you're in until some (other) hunan comes by and cancels your account. Keyword based detection works, to a point. But people can say the darnest things without using actually offensive words. But probably a good filter for juvenile stuff. Back when capchas were wiggly text a small industry developed to get through the. The one that I thought was cleverest was porn sites making their users solve capchas to watch "free'" porn. Peep shows and crowdsourcing, together!
