this is great guys! I'm glad this happens infrequently enough that we have this much to give when it does. I may not be in town but will find a way to get some money to the cause either way.
I'll be there! I could use a tune-up, and I know a few kids who could use a membership
That is awesome!
Ill be there but wont be able to stay, I hope I can give some money and all even if I can't stay
those are some awesome raffles. I'm there, and hubby's agreed to come out too. not sure if we're doing the movie before or not, depends on timing.
thats super awesome!
So great to see the organization & everyone comming together for this!
Lolly,
If there is any intrest I would like to donate one of my handmade wood pieces.("How I Roll") I sell them for $25 but if we can get more even better.
Let me know your thoughts. Thank you for putting this all together.
Nice work, Lolly!
I like the bike piece, racedoug! Are you doing that with a jig saw?
Pseudacris, Thank you! I use a scroll saw for that piece.
Hey Racedoug,
That'd be lovely! Thanks!
Found out this morning that my schedule magically cleared... So I'll be there too.
Raffle prizes are $2 for one or $5 for 3.
Or a lot more for a lot more.
nice last-minute idea! Wow. You guys can sure pull an event together with little notice.
when is the drawing? will one be able to buy tickets if one made plans for tonight a few months ago?
The drawing is going to be ~9:30ish. You could have someone buy tickets for you.
on our blog. (unless more come in this afternoon)
@HiddenVariable - check your messages.
I'm gonna donate some money - and I don't need no raffle prizes.
It turns out that I'm only going to be there at the beginning of this Need to pick up my brother at the airport -his flight got delayed and need to be there at 9pm instead of 7pm as it was before.... so don't yell at me if I skippout early.
Regardless.... I get all-fuzzy feeling seeing how everone is coming together for this. Seriously awesome like one of those cheesy-Christmas Miracle movies
@HiddenVariable - check your messages.
i haven't got any!
Hmm, I sent you a PM, or I thought I did. My system here is sometimes a little squirrely. PM had to do with last night's event, so no need to recap it here. sorry!
Nice to see the Pittsburgh bike community is so supportive. This wouldn't happen in Philly.
in case people haven't seen already, we raised over $1700 for nathan and his family last night.
Yeah, how long were we sitting beside each other at the bar before we realized we knew each other?
Fun time meeting folks from the forums, and helping out Nathan.
i really wanted to win that wood-carved bike....
my brother won that!
and his friend who lives behind otb won a 50dollar cert! so he owes me beers because otherwise he wouldnt have come.
I thought it was hilarious and awesome that OTB was so fucking packed on a Monday night. As I rode to a bus stop, every other establishment was totally dead.
I think that just means that we're better than everyone else
Noah, I don't have any made right now but if you are interested I will be making more after Christmas. I sell them for $25. Let me know.
Caitlin, I hope your brother enjoys the piece. They are fun to make and even better was that it went to a good cause.
Money's a little tight these days but after the holidays, hopefully better. Update us on here when you make a new batch!
Will do! I handmake them one at a time so as I make them I will keep everybody posted. I also hope to make many more bike related pieces soon.
