Rankin bridge
Does anyone know if they finished working on the Rankin Bridge?? I am going to get the bike out tomorrow and start from Frick Park Nature Center and cross over the Rankin Bridge to the Waterfront.They were doing construction on that bridge all of last year and it was almost impossible to cross.Is it now passable to cycle across??

Not only is it finished, it has really wide lanes, plenty of room to ride your bike and plenty of room for cars to get around you with adequate space. Of course, the problem with really wide lanes is that cars like to drive faster on on them.
There is a sidewalk on the up-river side.

when the weather gets nicer we should totally not use the rankin bridge to not go to carrie furnace.

I was going to post about this. They removed one sidewalk so there is now more room for travel lanes, which thankfully they didn't just hand over to cars. The down river side doesn't have lanes or a shoulder painted yet, but the opposite side does and the shoulder is probably 4-5 feet wide.

I agree with Noah in that we should NOT do anything like that, especially on a nice day when I can NOT go as well.
