Some of you may remember that I had a run-in with a driver in Mt Lebanon back in December. I shared video with the police, and they tracked the driver down and charged him with reckless driving.
His hearing is this coming Tuesday at the City County Building at 8:15. The charging officer said I don't need to be there, since the video evidence is so strong, but I am welcome to attend. I plan to attend.
At the time of the incident, there was discussion about a possible cycling community presence at the hearing. So if anyone would like to attend, let me know, and I'll wait for you in the lobby of the courthouse on Tuesday morning. I'll even buy you a coffee after the hearing if you'd like!

I used "courthouse" as a generic term; the hearing is in the City County Building.
I'll know more tomorrow. The officer left a message yesterday, and I have not spoken to him directly, but will do so tomorrow.

I'm maybe a 1 in 10 chance of making it, for the same reason I'm likely going to miss out on helping with @swalfoort's bike count on Wednesday. But text me just the same. Possibly a miracle might occur.

Was this postponed? I was there from 7:40- 8:15 and didnt see anyone, not even a cop.

I'm sorry, I didn't see you. The officer called me right around 7:45 and told me to report to the 8th Floor.
The driver was allowed to plead guilty to careless driving, down from reckless. The officer felt this was a good result, and the driver's attorney assured me that his client understands the law much better now than before.
