Note the "meander" park connecting downtown to Hill District using a roof over Crosstown Boulevard (route 579)!

Time to drag out once again a formal proposal that I helped write in 2005 an elevated walkway to connect all the transportation modes. We discussed it in 2010 on the message board (link) and here is a quick map. This is still workable, still needed. The walkway is in pink. An elevator would join the pink and blue sections.

Just found on the BikePGH Civic Calendar:  "A hearing will be held Thursday to show and discuss the city's plans to build a pedestrian park over Crosstown Boulevard and connect the Lower Hill District to Downtown." The event will be TOMORROW, Thursday, June 22, at 5pm at Hill House's Blakely Program Center at 1908 Wylie Avenue, just below Devilliers -- around the corner from the plaza with the Shop & Save in it, or about eight blocks above the Arena and one over, if you prefer. Sorry for the short notice--literally just saw it tonight myself.
