route from the city to Monroeville

I have a part time job in Monroeville and wondering if there's a safe route to cycle there from the city,(Squirrel Hill).Any information would be much appreciated.

I used to take one of two routes out there and back: The southern route: https://www.mapmyride.com/us/pitcairn-pa/a-ride-mapped-on-05-18-2011-route-34667720 The northern one: https://www.mapmyride.com/us/homestead-pa/a-ride-mapped-on-05-18-2011-route-34666930 When weather was bad I would take the 69 (southern) or 67 (northern) bus and ride the rest of the way.
