Route suggestions, Mt. Washington to Oakland
I'm fairly new to bike commuting, live on Mt. Washington. I plan to commute to Oakland and back often starting this week, but I'm left confused on finding the safest and/or quickest route(s).
The most promising route I've found online is taking Grandview to Sycamore (avoid McCardle) down to Carson, then taking the Three Rivers trail all the way to Hot Metal bridge (or Birmingham?). I can't tell where to go from there...

Back, either incline is your friend. Get a bus pass. You'll use it elsewhere beside the trip back,.
