also, need this kinda ASAP
Rumble strips on state roads 'round here?
so apparently the League of American Cyclists got PennDOT's attention on the rumble strips issue.
While Pennsylvania has had a rumbles strip policy for years (only on shoulders greater than 4 feet), we have all heard stories and experienced roads where this policy has been violated.
can anyone direct me to spots on state roads where there are rumble strips on shoulders less than 4'. this also includes central rumble strips, which cause cars to pass cyclists closer than if there were none.
photos would be great, but if they can be seen on google street view that's ok too.
I'm sure there are sections of Saxonburg Blvd. where they cut them this year--agressively-- in the center and the shoulder where the shoulder is less than 4 feet. I don't have photos and they are too new for Google Maps.
I'll be glad to provide photos of Saxonburg Blvd if needed.
I'm almost positive 978/North Branch Road near Oakdale has these, but Google street view doesn't show them, which means they must be recent. It's a nice road EXCEPT FOR THOSE.

What's the latest I could get you photos?
the obvious example would be allegheny river boulevard. i'm not sure there's a section of it with a shoulder that's wider than four feet, and plenty of it has central strips. here is a random example.
yup i second ARB. center strips pretty much the entire way to verona. sucks.
Route 50 past bridgeville, where it narrows down into 1 lane each way.
Pearce mill rd out of north park
I hope I post this link to Google street view right... Mt Royal Blvd in Shaler between Elfinwild Rd and Vilsack Rd.
Very narrow, very curvy, rumble strips in the center with almost no shoulder. They're clearly visible in street view.
State Route 981 that runs from Latrobe north to New Alexandria. It serves as the main arterial road north out of Latrobe towards U.S. 22. I have driven it numerous times to get to my grandparents' and every time I'm always like, no way is this road safe for bicycling. Mostly because along this stretch the shoulders are narrow and the road has center line rumble strips, plus cars drive well over the posted 45mph speed limit.
I know a large portion of Bike Route S has them. Almost ruined my tour when I hit one and crashed on a downhill.
edit:never mind, the street this post was about just sucks, no rumble strips though. i should check street view before i post...

I could see no rumble strips with google street view. Am I missing something?
OK maybe not clearly visible, so I circled them in the image. I was just up there on Tuesday to visit my mom - Mt Royal has a 4-foot shoulder in some places, but there is no shoulder in many places.
Let me get this image uploaded for you...
