Saturday, January 24th: Tour de Trek Store wintry century
Yeah, it's probably a bad idea, but what the heck.
4 Trek stores, 20-25 degrees F, 6K' climbing, and about 100 miles or so. Starting 8 AM at Swinburne St trailhead, hitting TRM in Mt. Lebo, then Trek of Robinson, Cranberry, and Shadyside.
Highlights will include: probably getting lost in the South Hills, a fun climb over the ridge behind Sewickley, and a salt-encrusted drive train.

Short version: cool up until Beaver Grade Rd or so, then one of the riders started bonking pretty hard, so we cut it short in Coraopolis and headed back to town. Another rider finished up his century with a trip to Tarentum and back; I wussed out, mostly due to no frickin' interest in riding a route that familiar(AKA boring) in 20 degree weather.
If I can work out scheduling, I may make an informal run at it again next weekend. I really dug the route, at least the first half.
