I have a jandd extreme front rack.

It is pretty freaking gnarly. I carried like 50lbs
on it (most being water) offroad for a few days.
Held up fine and looks nice as it is solid.
I am looking for a front rack to add to my Long Haul Trucker. I want something I can put my panniers on but also strap a basket or some other container to the top of it.
I am leaning towards just getting a surly nice rack because it fits those requirements and I know it will easily mount but am open to other suggestions.

I'm pretty pleased about my Surly Nice Rack. I'm really happy with mine. The only problem is that so far, no one has actually verbalized "Hey-ey! Nice rack, dude!"
I've never seen a Jannd, and the Surley is a chunk more cash, but the Surly is steel and the Jannd aluminum. My impression is that the Surly could last through a few bikes and aluminum would wear out.
