Mike Rytel at Greater Pittsburgh Orthopedics is your best bet for a doctor. He sponsors a local team and both he and his wife ride.
some advice re: sports med places?
I'm not sure if this is the right category for this post, but I don't know where else to put it.
My shoulder has been bothering me for several weeks, mainly from work and how I've been sitting at my computer. However, I seem to have really jacked it up, along with a part of my back, when I was biking yesterday. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a clinic or doctor that might be good for this? Or maybe just things that have worked for you to heal back up? I'm not really familiar with the medical facilities around here, so I thought I'd ask....

Thanks---any tips are helpful.
Thank you!
There used to be a Dr Stone at teh Piottsburgh Sports Medicine, who was a sports medicine doc who waws not a surgeon (physiatrist?).
You want to avoid surgeons - overpriced, arrogant, inaccessable, and too eager to cut. Particularly the famous surgeons, who are all these things - AND MORE ! !

My wife had a ham string injury, she went to UPMC sports medicine and was racing again in 3 months.

Thanks again to everyone for the responses. Took myself down to the UPMC Sports Medicine facility and saw Dr. Stone today, and I think I'm on my way.
