Stolen / missing Norco pair of bikes and/or Specialized Sirrus

Please put on your thinking caps.  I picked up a Specialized Sirrus for parts last week.  Story made sense, no reports of a stolen bike.  I checked online sources as well as Pittsburgh PD. Then the following deal came up.  His and hers Norco bikes.  Both bikes are in near new condition.  This deal made no sense.  Again,  no reports of a stolen bike.  I checked online sources as well as Pittsburgh PD. Today, I purchased one of these Norco bikes and ran the serial number through the local retailer (Kindred), the past retailer (Iron City) and Norco corporate.  None of the three had any record of the serial number.  I contacted the Pittsburgh PD twice but there was no interest. My guess is that the owner of the Norcos doesn't know they are missing.  If you. or someone you know, had a pair of Norco bikes, I can reunite you with them. I only purchased the Norco as it was the only way to get at the serial number.  I was hopeful I could determine the identity of the owner and then they could file a report with the Pittsburgh Police and have the seller cough up the other bike. I paid very little for the Specialized and the one Norco.  Even if the owner doesn't want to pay that small amount, I will still cheerfully return one or both bikes.  I just saw an opportunity to do the right thing. If you do have a bike stolen, please report it to the authorities.  Without that report they can't get involved.  Feel free to call or text, but please don't post my telephone number to other sites. You are a good person! Hopefully you find the owner.

I thought of this post when I saw this on Facebook: Warrant for Bike Thief - Please help us locate! FREE Pittsburgh, PA There is a warrant out for the arrest of this man (his name is Allan Regrut). He has been stealing anything he can get his hands on (but mainly bikes) from Pitt Campus, Oakland, and Shadyside. If you see him, please call 911 and report your location, with his name. The police will come arrest him immediately. My partner and I are 2 of his many victims (many of whom are students that rely on their bikes). If your bike has been stolen, please be sure to report it to Zone 4 police as they have recovered some unclaimed bikes (412-422-6250). His tactic is to sell bikes for very cheap on the street to anyone that will buy. He has often used the excuse that he is headed to the greyhound and needs to get rid of the bike immediately. If you have bought a bike (or any other stolen gear) from him, please come forward. You can either take the stolen gear to Zone 4 police (5858 Northumberland St, Pittsburgh, PA 15217), or you can message me and I will take it to them and maintain your anonymity. Finally, if you have come in contact with him – I want to hear your story! Please direct message me. I share anonymous stories from community members with the lead detectives on the case. This is not the values that we know the Pittsburgh community holds. Please help us get him off the streets!
