Maybe someone could get the info and post it here, rather than having everyone email them?
Support GAP access via Amtrak
Great Allegheny Passage The Trail Town Program and the ATA are seeking your support for getting "roll-on/roll-off" service on Amtrak's Capitol Limited Route! Please adopt our letter of support and forward directly to Amtrak. This is a great opportunity to expand access along the GAP and C&O Towpath; with your help we can make it happen! To get the letter of support or for more information, please email trailtown@thesca.org.
I've just requested the letter and info. When I get it I will post.
I feel Stu will be pleased to hear about this. Now only if we can petition a similar level of service for the cross-state train, the Pennsylvanian.
Here seems to be some more information on the letter writing campaign, which I found via facebook:

Dear Trail Supporter:
The Allegheny Trail Alliance and the Trail Town Program have been advocating for the roll-on/roll off service along Amtrak’s Capitol Limited Route and have reached the point where your help is needed! It is now time for our trail users to contact Amtrak with individual letters. Please adapt the letter below and make the necessary changes (highlighted as red text) to personalize it for your own situation and interest.
Amtrak prefers hard copies rather than e-mails, so we ask that you send a copy directly to the address listed in the supplemental letter below. It would be best to send a copy to both Mr. Fremaux and to Joe McHugh; both are at the same address. Also, please mail copy of your letter to the ATA at P.O. Box 501, Latrobe, PA 15650, or e-mail it to admin@atatrail.org Your immediate help is necessary and greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!

Dear Mr. Fremaux:
I strongly urge Amtrak to provide roll-on/roll-off accommodations for bicycles
on the Capitol Limited route between Pittsburgh and Washington, DC. I would use
the service every year/month/week and be glad to pay a reasonable fee for
transporting my bicycle on the train.
Sincerely,
(Your signature)
