I believe I may be one of the riders you met approaching the Pump House, it was great to be back in the 'Burgh.
Through riders on the GAP
June must be the season for through riding on the GAP. I was on the trail at Whitaker (MP 138) this morning between about 9 and 10. I saw a rider with panniers approach, and exchanged greetings. He (and two companions a short distance behind) were just arriving from DC.
Then, less than an hour later, at the Waterfront trailhead, I found a group of 7 just setting out for DC. Some would be heading only one way, some were starting out on a round trip.
Quinn, if that was your group I ran into as you were arriving, congratulations on a successful ride.
Judy, guys from CT and others, best wishes for a great ride. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for better than anticipated weather on Sunday night for you!
@Vannevar - Were you riding with Quinn? I just discovered through a FB posting on a friend's page that it was her group I saw and got a photo of.
A group of three, upon approach to the Pump House, one in front, two a little further back. Two in hi viz yellow, one in reddish-orange?

We have 20 people using our bikes and services to ride the Great Allegheny Passage this week! 6 different groups of people from Germany, Utah, California, Colorado, Canada and South Africa. So cool!
June really IS the month for thru riders on the GAP!
