Portland made it through 2013 with zero bike fatalities
This kind of news gives me optimistic hope for other cities. How did Pittsburgh do?
I think we had three fatalities: guy on Streets Run Rd., guy in Carrick, and the girl on Rt. 51 near Sewickly Br.
It would be great to have zero for sure.
We should have zero. We should accept nothing else.
“Maybe 10 million times in the last year, a Portlander got on a bicycle to go somewhere. Here’s how many of them survived it: every single one.”
How much does a billboard cost, for a month, in May?
Im sure you’ve all seen it, but if not you might be interested in #Vision Zero and how it’s being pursued with a new mayor in NYC.
Sure is impressive! Comparing the two cities, one would have to conclude Pittsburgh is a much more dangerous place to cycle than Portland considering how many more cyclists they have and we see to have deaths fairly often.
