Oh, yes! I'm in. I wanted to do something like this earlier in the year but was devoid of all motivation. On my calendar.
¡Tour de Taco!
There's a lot of bike rides this month, and adding one more to the list: ¡El Tour de Taco!
Saturday, October 23rd
10:30am - 1501 Buena Vista Street, Pittsburgh 15212
We'll be leaving from the Northside, feasting in the West End, the Strip, Lawrenceville, and then back north. ¡Taco stands, restaurants, and cantinas!
As this leaves in the morning time, you could probably still make the Speakeasy/Planned Parenthood ride if you wanted to double-up.

Three rides in 24 hours? (following regular Flock) ¡Sure!
Stop by mancini's and say hi! I'll be working, unfortunately
I'll be at a wedding... if someone could post at least the places stopped at (if not the route) that would be fantastic! Other than El Camps (for cheap, tasty tamales) and that one "new" mexican restaurant in Squ'ill (it wasn't there in 2004, when time started standing still in Squ'ill for me), I've noticed a dirth of decent places to find a taco in this city. For many long dark years, I thought Taco Bell was representative. I know now we are a long way from real, fresh avocados, but I'm glad to learn of more places that are doing their best
ej,
Since you're in penn hills dont forget reyazteca by the shopping center. good food good prices.
see, this is what is infuriating about pittsburgh, the yinzers hide all their good stuff and never share (I didn't even know there was an Italian grocer half a mile from my home until I'd lived there 4 years - and married an italian guy - I drove past it twice a day and I swear they don't have a sign visible from the road). I've never even heard about reyazteca - the shopping plaza on Rodi? Or a different one?
on frankstown above the shopping center
and it isnt that we keep them to ourselves, it is just that there are somany great things that we cant remember them all until someone brings it up.
ohhhhh... that used to be the drive through chinese buffet that scared me, I mentally mapped that realestate as MSG Horror and failed to update. It's good? That's exciting. I hope it fares better than the awesome Lebanese Hooka bar place on Rodi that folded after 6 months of local falafel heaven.
Its been there for a while and it is a semi chain (there being four or five of them all owned by the same family) it is pretty much a local version of los Camp.
All right, one last reminder post. Hope to see some of you mañana!
oh shoot, I don't think I can do this + flock. I'm leaning towards this, you know because of the tacos.
This is at 10:30 am on Saturday. Flock is at 5:30 pm today (Friday).
I am going to go to the non-bus-to-the-park (wtf?) part of the Schenley park meeting tomorrow, then hit up the taco ride. And of course, I'll be at Flock tonight!
andy, i fail again... i seem to be very busy tomorrow - need to re-sign a lease, go by freeride to snag some parts for my build, then be at a gig at 5. urrgh
@dwillen- I know they aren't actually at conflicting times, I just have other things that need to get done this weekend so I probably shouldn't be out riding my bike all weekend.
Psycheddddd for this..Is this gonna be a slower ride? A. Because i wanna ride my new, very badly geared single speed mtb...and B. Because i don't want my tacos coming back up! Haha.
I inadvertently joined this for a bit after the driver of the bus I wanted to be on waved at and passed me. The short part I was in was fun! Turned a really, really bad day into a pretty okay one.
Be on the lookout for a large group with fiesta music going on!
No tacos for me, been feeling a bit off, stomach-wise, all week. Gonna go nap now, hope everyone who's still on the ride enjoys the rest of it!
I had hoped to join you guys this morning but mechanical issues (mainly related to my old body) got me off to a late start. Don't think our paths crossed though. Did get in 46 miles and went over next Sunday's company ride. Good thing too as I need to reroute a couple of sections.
