I saw "new post" notifications on the front page, complete with the person who posted about 4 times the other day. but when I clicked, there was no new post, no link to a new page or anything.
I think it worked itself out on the fifth post or so.
Twice this AM, I've submitted a reply to the "Really Tall Bike" thread, and it has vanished into the ether. Anyone else having trouble?

Yeah, I saw that too. This seems different: the reply never seems to show up at all, no new post notification or anything.
That said, I tried a couple different ways (with and without embedded URLs and whatnot) on that thread. If three semi-duplicate posts show up, my bad.
Does anyone know of a way to make certain posts or even whole threads go away? Just curious...
if you ask me nicely
also, doing some maintenance right now. please be patient yinz.
go steelers
erok, if you don't fix these glitches ASAP, I will have no choice but to actually do work. For my paying job.
Please don't make me beg. It's not a pretty sight.
@erok- maybe like an eject button for the threads with funny stories and whatnot...

This could get ugly.
I dunno, I think maybe even the funny stories have their value, as painful as they may be. Help to maintain, mmm, perspective, if nothing else.

Wot 'e said.
erok told me that posts were being tagged as spam and one of the reasons may be because I had a website listed in my profile. I removed that and haven't had any problems since. Whether that was the actual reason or not, I don't know, but it is something to try as a workaround perhaps.
(As lack of clarity seems to have been a contributing factor on "some other" posts, I'll state here: I'm joking about making threads go away and the magic "eject" button. This board has a way of punishing certain types of humor... or I'm just not funny.)
i just tried starting a new thread. i presume the spam filter caught it because it contained some links, but at least one link was rather important. also: i thought we had gotten this straightened out?
yeah. it seems to work in waves. like it won't give a false positive for awhile, then all of the sudden it does.
we do get A LOT of fake sign ups, so maybe it's responding to a large load of them by being more selective and figity
