That's very cool. There are tiny glimmers of amazing stuff going on in Detroit. People continue to come up with great things in the bleakest of circumstances.
So the pioneers, the creative ones, go in and make something out of nothing, until it starts to have some value, then the parasites, the ones who abandoned the place in the first place, come back in and try to wring a profit out.
Ah, there, back to cynical normal.
I'd be curious to know whether property taxes have been paid on it, and what MI law is concerning squatters. Some places, if the owner of record doesn't pay the taxes, and someone else comes along, improves or restores the property and pays the taxes, that gives them some legal status. Varies very much by state, municipality and individual circumstance, but I know it's been done.
