Weird little physical symptoms.

I've been a regular rider for a few years, a commuter, but not a racer or long distance rider.  Late 30s, yeah, a bit overweight but not terribly so (working on that!) Almost every time I adjust my back it does at least some popping.  It's not painful, but I wish it'd stop.  My hamstrings and lower back are tight and it doesn't seem to be ameliorated much by stretching.  On longer seated climbs (say, approaching the top of monitor after finishing the first part of Greenfield) my sacrum complains.  It used to be that was the only time I'd get this weird little bit of nausea, but I've been getting it a bit more riding lately and it's been taking all the fun out of what used to be a much more frequent habit... putting the hammer down. I don't know if this cluster in any way suggests anything.  For now I'm just riding easier, but I miss the hammer down moments and occasional type 2 fun seeking.  I just don't want to be screwing myself up.

my best guess (I'm a psychiatrist, not as my mom says not a "real" doctor) is that there is something muscle-related going on. Wonder if a referral from your pcp to one of the sports medicine PTs would be helpful at upmc sports medicine (as long as you have an insurance that isn't blue cross) or to an equivalent service at AGH (if you have blue cross). the other option is to pay for a consultation with Matt Tinkey at UPMC Sports medicine up in cranberry for bike fitting. I did this (I think it was $100something). It lasted an hour. It was extremely helpful.
