Chris is indeed awesome. True facts.
Why Chris at Thick is one of the best bike dudes in the burgh
um... first of all, we voted it that way. But also, take this scenario:
My fiance was walking down a sidewalk, slipped on ice, and fell to the ground. He then made his way to school. When he arrived, he realized my Ipod touch was no longer in his possession. He could not leave school at that moment, and when he returned to the scene of the accident he found nothing.
I thought it was lost, gone forever. Now mind you, this is not just a music device, it has many important programs on it we both use on a daily basis. Oh well, being upset will not change anything. What's done is done.
Or so I thought. Later that night we receive an email. It was from Chris at Thick. Now, we are loyal customers and use Thick for almost all of our bike needs. But it wasn't the right e-mail, it wasn't the one he has for us. Chris found our Ipod, looked up the owners email, and emailed us, without knowing we are his customers. We now have our Ipod back and a little bit of hope that there are still some good and honest people left in the world. This is just one of many reasons why Chris at Thick is one of the best bike dudes around.
The first time I met Chris was when he rode by me as I was walking to Thick to get a chain. They were closed but he turned around and opened up. Yay! And he was riding his DIY 26" BMX, which was pretty awesome.
Also, he has ski bikes.
Ski bikes?
That's rad. I have ridden with his crew in frick a few times, super nice guys.

Chris and all of his employees are great. I have been going there for about a year in a half now and he as always gone out of his way to help me with what ever i needed. Just today I picked up my bike after him and larry spent the weekend fixing the fork on my old cannondale. I know it was a huge pain in the ass too.
Ah. Thanks for the visual on the ski bike. Looks like something that I could have used last week.
+1 for Chris. I don't get down the too much anymore, but when I did, he was always great.
