Hi everyone,
My bright yellow Schwinn 10 speed came up missing where I had locked it at the City-County Portico. It has special sentimental value and any possibilities of where it might be would be appreciated. I understand now there is a problem with the homeless on the portico and also didn't realize there is an issue with bikes being stolen for scrap. I never thought it would be stolen from there. I thought I saw someone riding it near the rivers casino T stop yesterday but could not get close enough before they were gone out of sight.

I post this all the time but remember the bike pgh bike registration index and that you can report a missing bike through the index.

Pam, It's a long shot, but I just copied an FB message to the Bike Pgh Message Board thread about a couple of NORCO bikes. It seems that Pgh Police in Zone 4 (Squirrel Hill) are actively looking for a guy who has stolen a bunch of bikes, and they have recovered some bikes. Check out that thread, and then contact Zone 4 police department for more information/to check in.

Just a follow up - I did call the police station zone 1 last week and zone 4. With all due respect to the police, I was not provided with any new information. I was asked to wait for the detective to call me regarding my case. I was told there were County cameras on the portico, if this is the case maybe the police could get a lead on this guy who has been taking the bikes if it is in the footage.
