Free Ride announces Kids Bike build-a-thon

Two Fun Work Days at Free Ride!

It’s that exciting time of year again, when we take that big pile of kids bikes at free ride, put some air in their tires, shine em real nice and put some loving into them and get em rolling. We then donate all the bikes to Tree of Hope, a non profit that works with children whose families have suffered traumatic losses.

How can you help?

We are having two bike build-a-thon nights. They will both take place on Wednesday Nights November 15th and November 29th 6-10PM. There will be tasty snacks, good company, balkan beats and more kids bikes than you knew existed at Free Ride. You do not need to know much about bikes to be able to help us out. Kids bikes are fairly simple and often just need someone who is willing to clean them and pump their tires. We will be putting up a folding door for the front of Free Ride!, reorganizing some of the wheel rack, filing away bike components (we do need more filing cabinets for this contact freeride@bike-pgh.org if you have one), and a whole slurry of tother exciting activities. Once again you do not need to have mechanical skills to help. All are welcome! and of course there will be the above promised snacks, music and fun times. Hopefully we’ll see ya soon!
