Port Authority may eliminate more than half of weekday bus routes

In a giant step backwards for the city, the Port Authority is recommending that half of its weekday routes be cut in order to cut costs in a time when dedicated state funding for transit isn’t looking good.

What does this mean for biking? Well, think about it, thousands of people are going to be affected by this and life doesn’t stop just because the buses do. Bike Pittsburgh is here to help transit riders get to work using a cheap mode of transportation. If you are going to be affected by these cuts in service, please give us a call at 412-726-5872 and we’ll hook you up with resources to get you an affordable bike and tell you the best routes to use to get to work, to the grocery store, or anywhere else in the city.
