South Side pedestrian injured by hit-and-run driver

A pedestrian is recovering after he was struck by a car early today on the South Side by a driver who left the scene, police said.
A passing motorist flagged down a police patrol car at 1:51 p.m. after stopping to find the victim lying on the pavement on the Birmingham Bridge.
He had been hit by a vehicle sometime between 12:30 and 1:50 a.m.
Police said the man was unable to identify himself and did not remember how the incident occurred. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
